Having followed Maneet Chauhan on Food Network for quite some time, I was extremely excited to finally eat at one of her restaurants. If I'm honest, I walked in with extremely high expectations however... Chauhan Ale & Masala House exceeded every single one of them. Everything we ordered was divine. We took advice from our excellent server, who basically guided the entire meal for us. We knew which apps we wanted - Nashville Hot Vegetable Pakora & Tandoori Chicken Poutine (both were amazing btw), but when it came to the curry offerings we were stuck and couldn't decide. She offered her input and steered us toward the Tamarind Lamb Chops in the Moilee sauce. Again, phenomenal. For sides we had the Basmati Rice, Saag Mac & Cheese, and Garlic Parmesan Naan. For dessert she highly recommended the Gulab Jamun Cheesecake. Another exceptional bite, and a fantastic end to the meal. The restaurant itself is clean and uniquely decorated. I highly recommend making a reservation. We made ours a month in advance to be safe since we were traveling from out of state. Also, there is an adorable shrine to Maneet by the restrooms which is not to be missed. If you are visiting Nashville and looking for a meal worth coming back for, this place has got to be on your list.

I've been a fan of Maneet's for several years, so couldn't pass up the chance to eat at one of her restaurants on a recent trip to Nashville. The decor was reminiscent of her chef coats. It was fun to see her TOC belts on display. The place was not crowded when we arrived for our 6:15 reservation, but appeared full by the time we left. We started with whipped paneer, which was excellent and something I wish I could have more often. My friend and I shared the Tournament of Champions Tiffin, which I enjoyed on many levels. The waiter was concerned that we wouldn't have enough to eat, but each of the included proteins was a 4 ounce serving, as well as some sides, and we also shared the crispy Brussel sprouts, so we had plenty. My friend's husband had tandoori chicken, and he was pleased.

Lambchops were very good. Ambiance for the price could have been better. It was also very cold where we were sitting.

Enjoyed the dining experience here, definitely recommend adding to your list! Group of 6 got together for dinner and ordered a variety of meals (however no photos were taken- we just dived into the meals!) Apps: Goan Mussels, Vegetable pakora and Masala fries with chicken Main course: Lamb Vindaloo and Chicken Tikka Masala with garlic parm and bullet Naan. Desert: Chauhan Chocolate cake Drinks: Old Mezz and others but don't quite recall now Make reservations, helps with the wait time. The team there is great, helpful with recommendations and definitely takes care of the table. Must add to your dining rotation!

We enjoyed the wonderful presentation of the food, authentic flavors , the cute decor of the restaurant. The watermelon salad was super refreshing, the kheema pav / sloppy Joe sliders were such a favorite with the fam . The bhuna chicken and the prawns in the coconut curry were delicious too. We are definitely going back for more !!

This was exquisite! Our waitress knew everything about the menu and walked us through the majority of the dishes while highlighting the most popular in each category. She also recommended which protein/vegetable paired the best with each curry. The heat level was either non existent or mild, but you can order a side of diced chilis to cater to your preference. The restaurant was clean and cool. There was a projector playing what looked like an Indian silent film on a brick wall. Everything I ate (and I ate a lot) was SO delicious. Here are what I thought were the must-haves: - Whipped paneer: feta, Parmesan, chives, lime pickle honey, and naan. The paneer was rich and smooth; the lime pickle honey helped cut through the heaviness and made me go back again and again for another bite - Braised beef French onion naan: braised beef, cheese, and caramelized onions stuffed in naan with a side of au jus. This was perfectly savory and really satisfied a craving I didn't realize I had. My fiancé and I gobbled this down like there was no tomorrow - Shrimp & Grits: semolina grits, moilee sauce (southern Indian coconut milk curry), and of course shrimp. Grits creamy as heck, moilee sauce soft and creamy as heck, and shrimp heckin' delicious. The moilee sauce was very light in flavor. I added chilis to it and it became perfect.

Outstanding food and service. Yeah, we came here because it's the restaurant of a celebrity chef. We didn't see Maneet while there, but we had awesome food. The restaurant is small-ish, but well laid out with large tables given the number of people they seat. It had lots of room for sharing dishes. Everything that my family ordered and shared was great. The waiter was great and the expediters had stuff out fresh. It was pretty cool to see Maneet's ToC belts, too!

The service was good and fast, which adds to my higher rating. The food and quality were great but I don't know if it's worth the premium they charge. You can get Indian food in Nashville for less and the quality and service will be just as good. But the location in the Gulch makes it easier to access for the masses. I knocked down a star because I didn't receive what I ordered. I ordered the lamb Korma and I received chicken. I'm sure I could have brought this to the attention of the staff, but we had a group of 5 people and didn't want to fuss about it. The chicken was juicy and tender so no harm done. I was charged for the lamb, so maybe speak up if something like that bothers you.

this restaurant came highly suggested by 3 people while in town. i was a bit skeptical because its indian food in the south, plus i am privileged enough to live in jersey city, nj and near edison, nj which are both a mecca of both Indian culture and cuisine. That being said, I think this establishment was good, but I didn't think anything I had was unique or impressive based on the 3 people who suggested it. I think for the south and this area, the gateway dish and Naan I had were very good and I can see why people love it because it's not typical for this city. The decor was beautiful, good service , full bar and clean place. The garlic parmesean Naan was fluffy with crispy edges. I loved the touch of parmesean, it was there for sure. Chicken Tikka with rice was a generous portion. The chicken itself was JUICY. They were incredibly weak on the spice I think i asked for medium strength so I'd keep that in mind. However, I think the flavor overall was good.
